Most American airports suck.

There is a shadowy place that you are not to venture to.

Especially Atlanta.
It sucks the most. And I'm based out of Atlanta.

I agree most do suck. Either the airports themselves or the horrible location that makes them a pain in the ass to get to (Denver, Cincinnati etc) I am blessed that Portland isn't terrible, easy to get to via car/light rail and state law mandates businesses in the airport can't jack up their prices.

Atlanta is likely the best big airport in the US.

I fly through Atlanta tomorrow on my way to NH. This will be... I shall report back.

I will be hoping that your arrival gate is close to the number 18. Those are the ones closest to the train.

Now I'm all kinds of paranoid. I'll look into where the scheduled gates are.

I assume you are flying Delta though. AirTran/Southwest tend to cluster together in one concourse.
Delta, on the either hand can either be
Painless
Or a major pain. (A34 to F1)

Yup, Delta. Both gates appear to be the generic "Domestic Terminal South". Which hopefully means that my changeover should be not horrible.

Although just looking at the map of the terminals, and then the overview of the entire airport... holy hell. I am intimidated. Wow.

Well, all Delta domestic flights will show Domestic Terminal South. That doesn't mean that you don't get the two-sprints-and-a-train-ride so endemic to ATL.
Allow me to show a map.
All of these gates shown are Delta gates. And it is entirely possible to have a domestic flight change from T1 to F1 (Sprint to the middle of T, take the train from T to F, sprint to F1)
They should be able to tell you the gate once you are in the check in window.

I'm in the checkin window... still nothing. Maybe later today they'll update with gate info. The map is scary... LOL

It makes a certain amount of sense, and you have to trust that everything is regular in the A, B, C, D, and E concourses.
I despise it, and I'm Platinum Medallion on Delta, and fly out of there on a more frequent basis than I would like.
